How to take care of your school uniform
Uniforms are intended to last a reasonable time that is why it is important to select the best quality and the right supplier. Taking care of your uniform is not a difficult process but it requires consistency.
It is important to follow the care labels with detailed care instructions closely if you want to keep your garments looking their best.
Regular maintenance of your uniform can increase its longevity. You can find additional tips for washing the garment on the swing tag, as well. Cotton uniforms should be washed by hand or machine wash, however, only allowed to hang dry. Wool uniforms can be washed by hands or by dry cleaning but never with machine wash. Consider turning your clothing inside out before washing it to help it last longer.
To avoid colour stains, only wash whites with whites and colours with colours. The best approach to dealing with stains is to use cold water to rinse them out of the fabric right after they occur. The use of fabric softness is not recommended.
Make sure if the care label states “Do not iron”- do not iron! Be careful ironing garments with screen printing. Finally, don’t forget to store your uniforms in a clean and dry place. Avoid storing them in places with strong odours or humidity.
